John Machado

John is the youngest of the five Machado brothers of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He began his training 40 years ago with them and his cousins, the Gracie family and received his black belt from Carlos Gracie Jr.

He dominated the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu circuit, winning every major competitive title from 1982 to 1990. In 1990 he also graduated from Rio Federal College receiving a degree in Environmental Farming.

After graduating, he competed three years later at the Pan American Games in Sambo competitions, becoming champion two consecutive years: 1993 and 1994.

Xingú

Xingú achieved the rank of Blackbelt under Master John Machado. Xingú is dedicated to upholding Master John's teachings and continually evolving to help people understand Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu more quickly. His goal is to empower individuals to gain confidence in using this art form for both self-defense and sport.
